Holding Motherhood and Work

Registration is now open!

A 5-week cohort to explore shifts we are experiencing in becoming parents and how these affect our relationship to work

Being a parent of young children myself, I hear SO many parents talking about big adjustments they are experiencing in how they view work in their lives and big desires to make changes. I also hear how hard it is to have any bandwidth for this sort of bigger picture thinking. Whether it is wanting more flexibility, wanting to be with their children more, having more boundaries around work when they are with their children, or wanting to increase their income while not increasing their time away from their children, this cohort is intended to create space for these thoughts and desires.

Join Mamabear Fitness, Root to Rise Physical Therapy, Leigh Tillman Facilitation, and a group of peers in delving into how our experience of becoming parents has impacted our relationship to our work. Consider together what we can do in how we approach and shape our work to align with our priorities and values.

Explore your own unfolding experience, hear what others are thinking, and support one another in considering options and making adjustments to respond to the huge changes in our schedules, responsibilities, and hearts that having a child involves.

This cohort is about honoring what’s shifting, recognizing the commonalities and individualities of this transformation, experiencing comradery, and determining what you can do to respond to the changes you are experiencing.

We will meet weekly for five weeks. This will be in person for 1.5 hours. There will be group discussions, small group and pair conversations, individual reflection, brief presentations of resources and perspectives, opportunities to look at possibilities and create next steps, and some time to move our bodies a little amidst it all. Participants decide whether they bring their children or not.

  • -Participants are parents of a 6-month to 3-year-old child. This age range is flexible.

-Participants decide whether to bring their kiddos or not.

-Participants are able to consistently attend all sessions - we understand that things come up and also want this to feel like a cohesive experience of being together over the five weeks.

-This program is inclusive to all who want to join. In delving into holding motherhood and work, this program is for all who want to explore this experience they are having. Please feel welcome and that this is for you.
